Objective: Students will be able to define terms from the chapter but also describe examples of each term. Students will work in groups of three of my choosing.
Learning Environment: Computer Lab/Media Center
As we rap up the chapter, students will choose ten of the twenty-five vocabulary terms. Using a power point presentation, students will define each term, describe an example using pictures and text to clearly explain the meaning of the term. Students will use a digital camera or video camera to show examples of the terms (they may take photos during the previous days' activities). This power point will represent 50% of their final chapter assessment grade. A rubric will be provided to the students prior to computer lab time.
Technology present: Power point, internet search engines, digital photography or video recording.
Differentiation present: Students will be allowed to choose the vocabulary terms they would like to define and present. They will also be able to use a digital camera, a video camera, as well as images from the internet. Tomlinson's Equalizer is addressed in the vocabulary power point as some students will pick examples from the textbook and others will choose real-world examples.
